Hino Poncho Z EV small city bus to be trialled in Malaysia

Japan / Malaysia - Hino Motors Ltd, headquartered in Tokyo, has agreed to supply its Poncho Z EV battery-powered light-duty buses for trials on Malaysia’s Langkawi Island, as part of a sustainable transportation project involving the Malaysian government.

The low-floor buses, which have 11 seats and can carry up to 32 passengers, will undergo trials on selected routes on Langkawi Island for two years from September, as agreed in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last March. One of the aims of the project is test the buses for suitability for Malaysia’s weather and road conditions.
