All-new Mitsubishi Triton unveiled in Thailand

Thailand / Japan - Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, based in Tokyo, Japan, has unveiled its all-new, sixth-generation Triton pickup truck at a world press event held in Bangkok, Thailand. This, however, is the first full-model changeover in eight years, with the current model first launched in 2015.

The new Triton is built on a completely re-engineered ladder chassis and suspension system. It will initially be available with a new 2.4-litre variable geometry turbo-diesel engine offering a maximum power output of 181hp at 3,500 rev/min, with a more powerful 204hp unit expected to be made available later. The new model comes with a choice of two gearboxes - a six-speed manual shift-by-wire gearbox with reduced vibration and a six-speed automatic gearbox. The latest Super Select 4WD-II system is available on 4WD models.
