USA / China – On 16 August, Cummins Inc of Columbus, Indiana, USA showcased its 15-litre hydrogen combustion engine for the first time in China, at a company technology day in Wuhan, Hubei, signalling its mixed low/zero-carbon strategy for the Chinese market.

At the company’s East Asia Research & Development Centre, the upcoming ‘X15H’ engine was presented alongside Meritor axles, aftertreatment systems, and ‘Endurant’ transmissions from the joint venture with Eaton – all intended to demonstrate the broad range of powertrain components in the Cummins product portfolio for low- and zero-carbon drivelines (based on the combustion engine).
