Volvo celebrates 30 years of FH truck range

Volvo FH and FH16

Sweden – On 4 September, Volvo Trucks Corporation celebrated the 30th anniversary since the ‘FH’ range of heavy trucks was launched; from 1993 until today, Volvo has sold nearly 1.4 million units around the world.

The FH – standing for ‘Forward control High entry’ – was launched to replace the ‘F’ series of trucks which had been in production for over 15 years. The FH featured a redesigned chassis and a new 12-litre engine, along with a 16-litre option. Five generations have been launched since 1993. Multiple iterations of the FH have gone on to win the International Truck of the Year award three times, in 1994, 2000, and 2014.
