Volvo begins serial production of electric trucks in Ghent, Belgium

Sweden / BelgiumVolvo Trucks Corporation of Gothenburg, Sweden has announced a heavy electric truck ramp-up with the launch of serial production at its factory in Ghent, East Flanders, Belgium.

The Ghent factory already builds diesel and natural gas trucks from the heavy-duty FH, FM, and FMX ranges. Now, battery electric versions of these models are being assembled on the same production line, which can make up to 45,000 trucks per year. Next door to the factory is company’s battery assembly plant, which started production last year.
