Karsan plans entry into UK market with e-bus range

UK / Turkey – Following the signing of a framework agreement for the sale of up to 300 e-Jest electric shuttle buses in the right-hand drive (RHD) market of Japan earlier this year - Turkish bus manufacturer, Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Tic AŞ (“Karsan”) of Bursa is now looking to enter the UK market beginning in 2024.
This announcement was made by Deniz Cetin, Chief Commercial Officer of Karsan Automotive & Board Member at Group Companies, in an interview with Truck & Bus Builder (T&BB) at the 2023 Cenex event (September 6-7) at the Millbrook Proving Ground in Northamptonshire, UK. Cetin said that after launching the e-Jest in Japan, the company had been reviewing and exploring other RHD markets. Consequently, Karsan, Cetin said, has been holding meetings and discussions with several potential UK distributors in recent months.
