British HFC manufacturer – Intelligent Energy – testing new HFC for LCVs

IE-Drive 100 HFC

UK – Hydrogen fuel-cell technology company, Intelligent Energy Ltd* based in Loughborough, UK, has unveiled a new lightweight hydrogen fuel cell (HFC) system (IE-Drive 100) for light commercial vehicles (LCVs) at the 2023 Cenex event (September 6th and 7th) that took place at the UTAC Millbrook proving ground in Northamptonshire, UK.

The IE-Drive 100 utilises the company’s “patented evaporatively cooled (EC) technology”, whilst the hydrogen fuel cell stack delivers 155kW of power. In terms of the architecture, the design is centred around ‘blending’ the desired performance with the space constraints of LCVs. The HFC is currently being tested with various UK partners.
