Volvo signs supply agreement with H2 Green Steel

Sweden – AB Volvo of Gothenburg, Sweden has announced it will begin procuring “near zero emission” steel from H2 Green Steel of Boden, Sweden for its trucks and buses starting in mid-2026.

As part of the “First Movers Coalition”, the Volvo Group has committed itself to a target of 10% of its steel being “near zero emission” by 2030. As such, it has reached a supply agreement with the Boden-based startup for steel which is produced by burning green hydrogen instead of coal.
