Ikarus wins first electric bus contract in Poland

Ikarus 120e

Poland / Hungary – Hungarian bus manufacturer, Ikarus*, a subsidiary of the Ikarus Group (owned by Műszertechnika-Holding Zrt) of Budapest, announced it has won its first electric bus tender in Poland and is now set to supply five Ikarus 120e buses to the city of Szczecinek over the next 12 months. These e-buses will replace the ICE buses as the city aims to decarbonise its public transport system.

The 12-metre low-entry Ikarus 120e has an 86-passenger capacity in a 3-door configuration. The 314 kWh LFP battery pack allows for a range of 350km (217 miles) on a single charge. All five vehicles are to be fitted with USB charging ports, on-board WIFI and air-conditioning. Polish electric charging systems provider, Ekoenergetyka Polska S.A. will supply the necessary charging equipment.
