Volta Trucks files for bankruptcy

Sweden / UK – A Reuters report yesterday announced that Volta Trucks AB, an electric vehicle startup based in Stockholm, Sweden, has decided to file for bankruptcy in its home country.

According to Reuters, the knock-on effects from the bankruptcy proceedings announced by Proterra Inc in August are a contributing factor in the decision by Volta Trucks to file for protection. The Californian company was a key supplier for Volta Trucks, and resultant uncertainty over battery supply in particular meant that the Swedish firm was forced to cut the number of trucks it was able to produce.
