Habas: A new Turkish bus builder emerges at Busworld Europe

Belgium / Turkey - Turkish bus builders certainly dominated the halls of Busworld Europe earlier this month. But none more mercurial than newcomer Habas, (HABAS Sinai Ve Tibbi Gazlar Istihsal Endustrisi AS) headquartered in Kartal, Istanbul. The company demonstrated four of its buses at the show.

Habas is a branch of a 67-year-old holding company that specialises in producing industrial gases. The holding company decided to invest in the automotive sector in 2021 and set up the bus-building arm of the corporation. The first port of call was establishing a factory in the Manisa Organised Industrial Zone, in Manisa Turkey. According to Habas, the factory allows for a flexible production infrastructure allowing them to tailor-make orders to the customer’s specific design specifications.
