Volvo VM semi-heavy truck celebrates 20 years in Brazil

Volvo Truck celebrates 20 years of Volvo VM production and sales

Brazil - The Volvo VM turns 20 this month and Volvo Trucks Latin America Ltda of Curitiba is launching a special limited series edition to celebrate the date. Sales leader among semi-heavy models, the truck completes two decades with more than 90,000 units sold.

Launched in 2003, the company says the VM represents a watershed in Volvo's Brazilian operation. It was the brand's first semi-heavy vehicle in the country, being designed and produced exclusively in the Curitiba (PR) industrial complex, one of Volvo's main factories around the world. Alcides Cavalcanti, executive director of trucks at Volvo, remarked: “Genuinely Brazilian, the VM won over transporters due to its versatility and the many advances it introduced into the market.”
