UK – Electric powertrain developer, London-based Bedeo, has brought a new retrofit range extender to market, designed to repower diesel vans into electric hybrids. Designed for the last-mile delivery sector, the RE-100 Range Extender has 117km of electric range, helping companies decarbonise. This product can be fitted to a wide range of light commercial vehicles including, the Peugeot Boxer, Citroen Jumper, the Fiat Ducato and Vauxhall Movano.

Two in-wheel motors powered by a 37kWh battery manufactured by Bedeo, are fitted to the rear axle of the vehicle. No suspension modifications are required to the front or rear, which means there is no loss of ground clearance and no loss of load space or height. The driver will be able to switch from diesel to electric mode and vice versa, allowing the vehicle to comply with low-emission zones.
