Tribus presents accessible mobility prototypes at Busworld 2023

Triflex Air 2.0 Flooring System presented by Tribus
Belgium – At Busworld 2023, held between 7-12 October at the Brussels Expo, Tribus BV of Utrecht, Netherlands two prototypes: a battery electric van converted to transport wheelchair passengers, and a new flooring system for securing wheelchairs in place during transit.
Though Tribus works with multiple OEM chassis, the vehicle showcased at Busworld (called the ‘E-Civitas’) was based on a Volkswagen ‘Crafter’. The work carried out by Tribus on the Crafter van involved not only converting it into a wheelchair-accessible minibus but also retrofitting an electric powertrain from an unnamed source(s). The retrofitted components include a 100-kW motor and two 24-kWh NMC batteries providing a range between 200 and 250 kilometres.
