Romanian bus builder debuts at Busworld Europe

Automecanica stand at Busworld Europe

Belgium / Romania – A new Romanian bus builder emerged at Busworld Europe earlier this month. Based in Medias, Romania, Automecanica, displayed a new electric bus on the stand, unveiled during its press conference. The low-floor 12-metre Automecanica AM12 city bus is powered by a direct-drive dual-motor system and can deliver  250 kW / 3,000 Nm. The axles are supplied by ZF, and the flexible battery configuration allows for NMC or LFP battery packs of up to 420 kWh. Nothing was said about series production, timescales or its order book.

Automecanica is a branch of an 80-year-old manufacturing company in Romania. its manufacturing routes trace back to the 1940s in designing and manufacturing machinery, truck superstructures, low-bed semitrailers and containers. The holding company decided to invest in the automotive sector in 2018 with their factory in the Industrial centre of Medias.
