1,000 zero-emission buses now in operation on the streets of London

TfL electric bus rollout

UK – Transport for London (TfL), has announced that there are now 1000 zero-emission buses on the streets of the UK’s capital, making it the largest zero-emission bus fleet in Western Europe, with more than one in nine buses now zero emission. Since 2021, all new buses joining the TfL fleet have been zero-emission, with all the other buses meeting Euro VI emissions standards. This now means that 54 routes in London are fully converted to zero-emission and 15 are partially converted. TfL claims to be on track to fully transition its entire bus fleet to zero emissions by 2034. This is part of the Accelerated Green Pathway, a policy that aims to reduce emissions by 78% in London by 2030.
