Scania invests BRA65.7m in Brazilian logistics centre and AI to expand global parts distribution operations

Scania Logistics Center Brazil

Brazil Scania Latin America Ltda of São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, Brazil is investing BRA65.7 million (USD13.42m) in its spare parts logistics centre in Vinhedo, São Paulo. Scania stated that this investment is not only aimed at enhancing its operational efficiency and preparing the facility to accommodate new components such as those for electric vehicles, but also to increase the physical capacity of the operation by some 50% from 15,000 m2 to 22,500 m2 to broaden its market reach from Brazil.

The expansion initiative comes in the same year when the logistics centre in Vinhedo, commemorates a decade of operations. Scania says the distribution  centre is already able to manage more than 42,000 distinct parts for supply to the northern regions of Brazil, neighbouring countries, and to territories spanning across the Pacific Ocean. This expansion, Scania said, enables it to enter potential new markets, including Mexico, while aligning it with Scania's global strategy to have electrified models represented over half of its new vehicle sales volume by 2030.
