China’s Shacman begins heavy truck assembly in Morocco

Morocco / China - Truck-maker Shacman, a brand of the Shaanxi Automobile Holding Group, headquartered in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, China last month began assembling heavy-duty trucks at a facility in Casablanca, Morocco in partnership with the local company, Groupe Premium (Premium Group) of Casablanca with the first batch of X6000* models already rolling off the local assembly line.

The truck is reported to have a local content of around 40% thanks to extensive use of local suppliers, with Premium Group claiming that the Shacman X6000 “not only demonstrates the capabilities of the Moroccan manufacturing industry, but also, creates employment opportunities for local workers.”
