Daikin Europe celebrates 50th anniversary

BelgiumDaikin Europe N.V. of Ostend, Belgium, a subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd, headquartered in Osaka, Japan, celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special commemorative dinner held at the De Bijloke Music Centre in Ghent, Belgium. The ceremony was attended by more than 600 staff, including Chairman Noriyuki Inoue, who said: “Daikin positions Europe, which has a high environmental awareness, as an extremely important region, and we believe that it is Daikin Europe’s mission to lead the Daikin Group in promoting the widespread use of environmental technologies.”

Daikin Europe began in 1973 with its first manufacturing site in Ostend, Belgium. The company now has factories in the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Italy and Spain. Daikin Europe has invested over EUR 140 million into heat pump technology in Ghent and over EUR 300 million in the construction of a factory in Poland over the last five years.
