Gotion InoBat JV signs MOU with the Slovak government to build a gigafactory in Šurany

Slovakia / China – The joint venture between Chinese battery maker, Gotion High-tech Co Ltd based in Hefei, China and Slovakia-based battery cell manufacturer, InoBat Auto (Gotion InoBat Batteries*) has now signed an MOU with the government of Slovakia, to support the construction of a battery gigafactory in Šurany, Slovakia. With construction set for next year on a 65-hectare area of land, the Slovak government is set to provide subsidies, facilitate the necessary power infrastructure and help with general logistics. The venture aims to begin battery production in Q2 2026, producing EV batteries (for passenger and commercial vehicle applications) with a combined annual output of 20 gigawatt-hours. Furthermore, the project is set to create 1500 new jobs.
