DAF Trucks in Brazil records best year yet in 2023

Brazil - DAF Caminhões do Brasil Ltda of Ponta Grossa, Paraná State was the only truck brand to increase its sales in the Brazilian market in 2023: DAF Trucks’ semi-heavy and heavy truck/tractor registrations totalled 8,344 units, an increase of 22.8% compared with 6,793 heavy trucks registered in the previous year. This was in contrast with the Brazilian market overall, which decreased by 16.4%. Furthermore, according to DAF, it was the only brand since the beginning of last year to have sold models compliant with Euro VI emissions technology.
Luis Gambim, commercial director at DAF Brasil, said the DAF brand had expanded its market share in the segment above 15 tons to 3% and, above 40 tons, to 13.9% - stating that 2023 had been the company's best performance in its 10 years of operation in Brazil.
