Plastic Omnium starts construction of joint venture factory for hydrogen storage in Shanghai

France / China – Following the formation of a joint venture last June, Compagnie Plastic Omnium SA (“Plastic Omnium”) of Levallois, France and state-owned Shenergy Group Company Ltd of Shanghai, China have begun construction of a hydrogen storage production facility in Jiading, a district within the municipality of Shanghai. 

The 28,000-square-metre plant is being built in the Jiading Hydrogen Park. When it opens in 2026, it will be capable of producing up to 60,000 high-pressure hydrogen storage systems per year. These are intended for the Chinese commercial vehicle market.
