Marcopolo looking to build on bus and coach sales home and abroad in 2024

Belgium / USA / Brazil - Marcopolo SA of Caxais do Sul, Brazil in 2024 is looking to expand its sales further by developing certain business opportunities after strong sales at home and abroad. The company sold 6,074 bus bodies on chassis in Brazil in 2023, an increase of 85.1% on 3,282 in 2022; bus and coach body production in Brazil last year increased 44.5% to 7,278 (5,036) with exports accounting for some 1,300 units last year. José Luiz Moraes Goes, Director of International and Commercial Operations at Marcopolo advised Truck & Bus Builder at Busworld Europe, last October, that in 2024 its target export sales from its Brazilian facilities this year is some 1,800 vehicles.

Commenting on Marcopolo’s presence at Busworld Europe - the most important bus and coach exhibition in the world - Goes said the company was evaluating its possible re-entry into Europe after an absence of almost 20 years.
