Danfoss extends its product portfolio with 1500 VDC converter technology acquisition

Danfoss Energy Storage

Denmark / Finland – Earlier this year, Danfoss AS, based in Nordborg, Denmark, acquired both the 1500 VDC* converter technology and product team from Finnish renewable energy technology company Ampner Oy, with plans to scale up its energy storage electrification portfolio. Briefly, VDC converters allow operators to better manage/stabilise the power grid and put excess renewable power back onto the grid. This will help Danfoss better support its customers by optimising energy supply and reducing dependency on fossil fuels. By improving the battery energy storage system (BESS**) technology, customers will have more flexibility in managing both their energy applications and requirements. This product will be integrated within the Danfoss Drives portfolio of electrification solutions which focuses on energy storage and smart grids.
