FAWDE completes “Super” drive-axle plant in Changchun

China - FAWDE, the engine and transmission components manufacturing unit of Chinese truck manufacturer, FAW Jiefang Automotive Company Ltd of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, completed construction of a new large-scale drive-axle plant at the end of last year.

The company states it invested almost CNY1bn (USD138m) in the new “Super Plant”, which occupies an area of 72,000 sq m and can assemble and paint up to 320,000 sets of drive axles per year. The company claims the plant is fitted with “various energy-saving, environmental protection and energy management technologies to ensure a green and environment-friendly manufacturing process.”
