Belgium / Netherlands – After announcing significant investment into its cab and axle Westerlo manufacturing facility in Antwerp, Belgium in 2017, DAF Trucks Vlaanderen (a subsidiary of Dutch truck manufacturer, DAF Trucks NV) has been named “Factory of the Future” by the Belgian technology federation Agoria. The criteria are based on sustainability and the use of pioneering technology and manufacturing practices. The award is a testament to the massive investment into the plant and the subsequent transformation in the production processes of the new series of DAF vehicles.

Further afield, just last year DAF announced the expansion of its Eindhoven manufacturing plant to accommodate the assembly of its electric truck range, (XD and XF). T&BB covered the launch of the DAF XD and XF Electric trucks in an earlier article.
