Startup firm Blackbuck EV India announces 13m electric coach prototype for intercity applications

India - Hyderabad-based startup, Blackbuck Electric Vehicles India Pvt Ltd, a new entrant in the electric vehicle marketplace has revealed a three-axle electric intercity coach prototype, called ELON 3X.
The company says its engineering team has focussed on making the ELON 3X ultra-light weight and modular in design. It is based on, what Blackbuck calls, the ‘ELON skateboard platform’, which is seen as a way to offer other length models, like ELON 2X (10.5m) and ELON 4X (14.5m) in the coming years. The company states that the Skateboard platform comes with corner axles, advance independent suspension and drive motors on each corner and steer-by-wire steering, and that the design reflects the company’s strong commitment to passenger comfort, drivability, and safety.
