UKViritech Ltd, an e-powertrain tech firm based in London, UK has launched a fuel cell electric drive system, complete with auxiliary battery and hydrogen fuel storage, for OEMs to incorporate in their prototype and development vehicles.

The ‘VPT60N’ is a fuel cell electric powertrain designed for use in cars, light commercial vehicles, and certain off-highway applications. It is powered by a 60-kW fuel cell, which is paired with a DC/DC converter. The drive system combines an e-machine, inverter, and final drive unit, providing up to 200 kW of power and 4,100 Nm of torque. A 16-kWh battery system with integrated management and cooling systems provides auxiliary power, while two tanks store 6 kilograms of hydrogen at 350 bar.
