Wrightbus to deliver 55 battery electric double deckers to Limerick

UK / Ireland – Wrightbus Ltd of Ballymena, UK has announced that it will deliver 55 battery electric double deckers to Limerick, Ireland, as part of a government initiative to roll out a fully-electric bus service in the city and its environs.
The 55 ‘StreetDeck Electroliners’ will serve in the fleet of Bus Éireann, Ireland’s national bus company. The acquisition is part of a EUR54m investment by the National Transport Authority which will fund the replacement of Limerick’s bus fleet with battery-powered vehicles. It follows a similar initiative which was launched in Athlone in January 2023.
