PepsiCo buys its first Scania heavy-duty electric ‘distribution’ truck in Brazil

Scania P25 6x2 heavy-duty electric distribution truck

Brazil – February saw PepsiCo take delivery of its first electric heavy-duty truck in Brazil; a semi-heavy rigid (15t ≤ gvw up to 40 tons) P25 6x2 Scania truck, produced in Sweden, which is to be used in its internal logistics goods distribution operations between PepsiCo’s four factories* in the state of São Paulo. PepsiCo states it objective of this purchase and ‘partnership’ with Scania is to reduce CO2 emissions to zero compared with its traditional diesel-powered truck operation.

The P25 6x2 truck, which offers a payload of 23 tons and a single charge range of up to 200 kilometres is to be operated by Andrade Logística, the transport company responsible for PepsiCo’s logistics. A second Scania electric truck is to be used for  its food distribution routes.
