Hygen Energy and ITM Power announce strategic green hydrogen partnership

UK – UK hydrogen specialists Hygen Energy Limited* and ITM Power plc** have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at scaling up green hydrogen production and refuelling infrastructure in the UK. Under the agreement, ITM will supply a megawatt-scale PEM electrolyser system to Hygen’s flagship site in Aylesford, Kent, which will support the UK’s transition to zero-emission commercial transport by producing clean hydrogen on site for local fleets.
The Aylesford site is expected to begin operations in late 2025 and will serve both trucks and buses, supporting decarbonisation targets and energy resilience in the region. Both companies see the partnership as a springboard for a wider national rollout of hydrogen refuelling infrastructure.
