Belgian transport operator orders 100 Irizar ie tram electric buses

Belgium / Spain – Bus and coach manufacturer, Irizar eMobility of Aduna, Spain (part of the Irizar Group of Ormaiztegi, Spain) announced that it is set to supply up to 100 electric ie tram (tram styled front) electric buses to the Flanders-based (Belgium) public transport operator, De Lijn. First deliveries are to start at the end of 2024 with the remaining deliveries through until 2026. The vehicles are to operate as part of “special projects” in Limburg and the BRT project in Kortrijk. Charging infrastructure (pantograph) is to be provided by Irizar subsidiary, Jema Energy SA.
