Equipmake helps build the first electric bus in Argentina

The Agrale MT17.0e

Argentina / UK – Norwich-based repowering company, Equipmake Ltd, has just contributed the e-powertrain, and power electronics and integrated the battery pack in its first bus in the Argentinian market, entering service in the capital, Buenos Aires. The bus was commissioned by the country’s largest bus operator, Dota S.A and was built in conjunction with Argentine-Brazilian manufacturer Agrale (MT17.0e) with a body by Todo Bus. The electric bus features Equipmake’s zero-emission drivetrain (HTM 3500 motor) – which delivers 3,500Nm of torque at 1,000rpm and a peak power output of 400kW. The 318-kWh capacity lithium-ion battery pack provides a 250 km (155 miles) range. Equipmake develops the electric motor, inverter and power electronics in-house, whilst the battery packs are sourced from an external supplier. This electric bus is part of the city's broader plan to reduce carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
