Thermo King Europe launches battery pack for refrigerated trucks and trailers

Belgium – Thermo King Europe of Zaventem, Flemish Brabant has launched a battery pack which can be installed straight onto a refrigerated truck or reefer trailer and used as a power source for the transport refrigeration unit (TRU), providing a retrofit solution for operators who need to comply with emission and/or noise regulations.
The ‘E-CoolPac’ integrates power electronics, controls, and battery modules in a single box. The base unit can store between 15 and 35 kWh of energy depending on the specification. This capacity can be expanded up to a maximum of 105 kWh. The E-CoolPac is compatible with nose-mount and under-mount refrigeration units, including Thermo King’s own self-powered and vehicle-powered models and selected Frigoblock models.
