Volvo begins supply chain logistics with electric trucks in Brazil

Volvo FM Electric

Brazil – A joint study between Volvo Trucks Latin America Ltda and the National Traffic Secretariat (Senatran), one of two government departments responsible for vehicle safety and the environment, has begun to evaluate the impact of using electric trucks in the supply chain logistics of Volvo’s industrial complex in Curitiba (PR) and its component suppliers.

Ten Volvo FM Electric trucks, operated by the transport companies, Ritmo Logística and TLog, are now operating on various routes in Paraná and Santa Catarina states to supply components parts to the main production lines of the Volvo factory in Curitiba. Each FM Electric truck can run up to 380 kilometres per day, making several round trips between the suppliers and the factory. The batteries are recharged during breaks and after the daily journey.
