Ikarus to supply Hungarian transport operator with 20 e-buses

Ikarus 120e

Hungary – Hungarian bus manufacturer, Ikarus*, a subsidiary of the Ikarus Group (owned by Műszertechnika-Holding Zrt) of Budapest, announced it has won an electric bus tender to supply twenty Ikarus 120e buses to Hungarian public transport operator, Volánbusz, for operation in the cities of Balatonfüred, Hajdúszoboszló, Keszthely, Komárom, Komló, and Tata. This procurement is partly funded by the Hungarian Ministry of Energy and the Hungarian Mobility Development Agency (HUMDA). The buses are scheduled for delivery in Q3 2025.

The 12-metre low-entry Ikarus 120e has an 86-passenger capacity in a 3-door configuration. The 314 kWh LFP battery pack allows a range of 350km (217 miles) on a single charge. All twenty vehicles are to be fitted with USB charging ports, on-board WIFI and air-conditioning. Polish electric charging systems provider, Ekoenergetyka Polska S.A. will supply the necessary charging equipment.
