Poland / UK – Polish electric charging systems provider, Ekoenergetyka Polska S.A. and BP Pulse, the EV charging brand owned and operated by British multinational oil and gas company, BP plc, based in London UK, are exploring a potential collaboration in overnight charging infrastructure for European e-trucks. By 2030, there are expected to be 3.5 million e-trucks in Europe, but in order to sustain large amounts of zero-emission vehicles on the roads, Europe needs a dense network of charging infrastructure as well as the production of green energy suitable for heavy-duty vehicles. The collaboration is looking to explore overnight charging, allowing trucks to charge for 6-8 hours at public stops with lower power, around 50-150 kW. This is part of BP’s plans to create a European-wide charging network. Ekoenergetyka can provide the necessary charging infrastructure.

Earlier this year, BP pulse acquired the 21-acre Ashford International truck stop in Kent from the GSE Group Ltd, with plans to electrify the site with twenty-megawatt chargers in Q1 2026. The Ashford truck stop is one of the largest in Europe, strategically located close to the port of Dover. The facility offers 660 secure parking bays, convenience services and ablution facilities for truck drivers.
