Brazil - Mercedes-Benz Cars & Vans Brasil Ltda of São Bernardo do Campo is launching the group’s latest version of its electric Sprinter (eSprinter) in Brazil. Starting in the second half of December last year, Brazilian customers were able to purchase the vehicle. Mercedes-Benz claims the eSprinter offers range of 478 km* - the longest range on a single charge in its segment - and that it will be sold initially in truck, van and passenger van versions at GVWs of between 3.5 and 4.25 tonnes.
This latest version of eSprinter, which first came to market in mid-2023 in North America is made up of three models: front module, which contains all the high-voltage components; the mid or central module, the integrated high-voltage battery, which is protected by robust housing in the vehicle floor while also lowering the vehicle’s centre of gravity; and the third pillar of the modular design is the rear module with the electrically driven axle. The rear drive module has a compact permanent magnet synchronous motor (PSM), which weighs around 130 kg, has a maximum output of 150 kW and delivers a torque of up to 400 Nm.
