Brazil - Mercedes-Benz Cars & Vans Brasil Ltda of São Bernardo do Campo in launching the group’s new eSprinter electric van in Brazil at the end of 2024, also announced a partnership with electronic equipment supplier, WEG SA of Jaraguá do Sul, Santa Catarina State, for charging infrastructure solutions.

Mercedes-Benz Cars & Vans Brasil says that by working with WEG and its personnel, it can offer the vehicle and charging equipment best suited to the business operations of the customer. Both 11kW alternating current (AC) and 50kW direct current (DC) fast charging systems are available. (Rapid recharging from 10 to 80 per cent capacity takes around 93 minutes for the 113-kWh battery). The purchase of charging equipment via WEG, however, is optional, as some customers already have charging infrastructure (and agreements) in place.
