Pony.ai to start autonomous truck platooning tests in China

China - Autonomous driving technology company, Pony.ai, headquartered in Guangzhou, announced it has been granted a license to begin testing unmanned self-driving truck “platoons” on the Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu expressway in China.

This would be the first such test to be conducted in China, with Pony.ai planning to deploy platoons of autonomous trucks led by manned trucks for the transportation of goods between Beijing and Tianjin in northern China.
