UK – Last year, Oxford-based developer of autonomous driving technology, Street Drone Ltd, was acquired by Oxa Autonomy Ltd, another tech company in the self-driving sector based in Oxford, combining their respective expertise in industrial logistics and autonomous software.

Founded in 2014 as ‘Oxbotica’ following a successful research project at Oxford University, the company became ‘Oxa’ in 2023. It claims to have been the first to test self-driving vehicles on public roads in Britain in 2016. Oxa has primarily worked on integrating its ‘Oxa Driver’ software in passenger cars, microcars, passenger shuttles, and light commercial vehicles.
