UK / Hungary / USA – Gearbox and e-Axle manufacturer, Allison Transmission Inc of Indianapolis, Indiana has extended the warranty on its 2500 xFE and 3000 xFE fully automatic transmission models in the UK from three to five years. The company says it has introduced this extended warranty (effective January 31, 2025) specifically for models used in food waste collection vehicles. This warranty extension directly responds to the UK government’s new "Simpler Recycling" legislation, which mandates weekly separate food waste collections for businesses from March 31, 2025, and for households from March 31, 2026.

The key reasoning behind this warranty extension is to increase the competitiveness of its products on the back of a projected procurement increase of some 2,000 additional waste collection vehicles in the UK over the next three years.
