Volvo to test bus with automated driving in and out of bus stops

SwedenVolvo Bus Corporation of Gothenburg, Sweden is trialling a new autonomous driving feature, developed in-house, which allows buses to drive into and out of passenger stops independently of the driver.

The company says it has fitted the system in a ‘7900 Electric’ model and successfully tested it on a non-public road. Now, Volvo is trialling the system with local transport authorities in the Swedish city of Västerås, on route number one.
