Volvo launches coach for British and Irish markets with UNVI bodywork

UK / Ireland – Volvo Bus Corporation of Gothenburg, Sweden has announced a partnership with Spanish bus manufacturer Unidad de Vehículos Industriales SA (UNVI) to build coaches exclusively for the British and Irish markets, starting next year.
The new full-size luxury coach was launched during the annual general meeting of the UK Coach Operators Association, which was hosted in Warwick at the headquarters of Volvo UK. The 4x2 coach is 12.8 metres long with two seating options: fifty-three seats, or forty-nine plus one wheelchair space. It is powered by a 13-litre Euro 6 diesel engine and Volvo’s 12-speed ‘I-Shift’ transmission, delivering up to 500 horsepower and 2,500 Nm of torque.
