FlixBus partners with ETO Motors to launch electric intercity coaches in India
India – Global public transport operator, FlixBus India Pvt Ltd1, Bengaluru, Karnataka (a subsidiary of Flixmobility GmbH (brand name: Flix Bus) of Munich, Germany) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ETO Motors Pvt Ltd2 of Hyderabad (which describes itself as an Indian electric mobility solutions company) to deploy electric intercity coaches in India; thus marking its entry into the country's growing electric vehicle market. The partnership, which was announced in Bengaluru on January 30, 2025, is to begin with four zero-emission luxury coaches (supplier not given) scheduled to operate from next month.
The collaboration includes plans for developing charging infrastructure along FlixBus's routes and creating a framework for future expansion of electric mobility solutions. FlixBus will contribute its international experience in intercity transportation while ETO Motors will provide its electric mobility expertise.
