Blue Energy Motors add 50 more LNG tractor units to multi-modal transport operator in New Delhi

India – Blue Energy Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd (Blue Energy Motors)1 has secured an order from multimodal logistics services company, Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR)2 of New Delhi, for 50 LNG-powered 55t tractor units. The order, aimed at expanding CONCOR’s green fleet to a total of 175 vehicles, will see deliveries start by March 2025. These vehicles will be produced at Blue Energy Motors' factory in Pune.
The BE5528 4×2 tractor unit operates at 55t gvw and is powered using the NEF 6.7 LNG BSVI (280hp and 1000Nm) from Italy’s FPT Industrial in accordance with the agreement signed between the two companies in October 2022. The BE5528 truck has a 1000-litre fuel tank, which, Blue Energy Motor claims provide a range of up to 1400 kilometres in a single fill, and that it can run on both natural gas and biomethane.
