UK – UK-based energy startup, Aegis Energy Ltd based in London, announced it has secured a GBP 100 million investment from global investment fund manager, Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, to build five multi-energy CV refuelling stations in the UK by 2027. The sites chosen are located in Sheffield, Immingham, Warrington, Corby, and Towcester. These hubs will offer electric charging, hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), hydrogen, and bio-compressed natural gas (bio-CNG) to support the rollout of zero-emission commercial vehicles. Aegis energy claims that each hub will have the capacity to charge/refuel approximately 40 HGVs and 25 vans simultaneously. This will be supported by sizeable grid connections. The first station is scheduled to open in early 2026.

Aegis Energy plans to expand this network to up to 30 hubs across the UK by 2030, supporting the decarbonisation of the UK’s transport sector. This initiative addresses the critical lack of energy infrastructure for zero-emission commercial fleets, aligning with policies to reduce emissions and transition to sustainable transportation solutions.
