Toyota to launch H2 City Gold bus in Taiwan this year

The H2 City Gold Bus

Taiwan / Japan / Portugal - Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation’s Taiwanese distributor, Taipei-based Hotai Motor Company Ltd, plans to be the first company to launch a hydrogen-powered public transport bus in the country later this year. The move is in line with the Taiwanese government’s policy of promoting the electrification of the country’s urban bus fleets.

Hotai’s president, Justin Su, confirmed in February that the Toyota H2 City Gold hydrogen fuel cell bus was still undergoing homologation procedures, having already passed safety inspections late last year, adding the bus “is on track to become the first approved hydrogen fuel cell bus in Taiwan.”
