MAN UK begins first heavy e-truck road trials with DPD

MAN eTGX pulling a DPD trailer

UKMAN Truck & Bus UK Ltd of Swindon has announced its first series of heavy-duty electric truck road trials in Britain, in partnership with international parcel delivery firm DPD (a subsidiary of Geopost of France).

An ‘eTGX’ tractor unit will be put on the road, pulling DPD semi-trailers on a route from the firm’s delivery hub in Hinckley in central England. The drivers will undergo a comprehensive induction programme before the truck hits the road for operational testing. The truck boasts a range of up to 800 kilometres and fast charging capacity of up to 750 kilowatts.
