Brazil was Volvo's largest bus and coach chassis market in the world in 2024

Brazil - With 709 registered bus and coach chassis in 2024, Volvo's operations in Brazil by subsidiary company, Volvo Buses Latin America Ltda of Curitiba, Paraná State, became the world's leading chassis deliveries market for the first time. In total Volvo delivered 1,429 vehicles in Latin America during 2024 with Chile (238 and Peru (162) being the main continental export markets.

The city bus segment enjoyed strong sales in several of Brazil’s major cities. The city of Curitiba (PR), which has a passenger transport system considered to be one of the best planned in the country, renewed its fleet with 95 more Volvo B320R buses for BRT operations. Another significant delivery took place in the Federal District (DF), where 90 Volvo B320R buses went into circulation. In addition to these capitals, this model operates successfully in other large cities, such as Rio de Janeiro and Ribeirão Preto. The Volvo B320R chassis has a rear engine offering comfort, low noise levels and high energy efficiency with reduced fuel consumption.
